D'Elephant Thai

D'Elephant Thai is one of Chadstone Shopping Centre's newest restaurants, providing hungry shoppers affordable Thai cuisine in a casual and approachable space.

Pad Kee Mao

As excited as I was to welcome a Thai joint to my favourite shopping centre, I couldn't help but to feel rather underwhelmed with their dishes. Regrettably, D'Elephant Thai's muted flavours and less than service made a less than desirable experience.  Perhaps I was unlucky and just so happen to stumble in on a bad day ? Let's just hope it was my bad luck.

Cacao Green

Cacao Green has landed at Chastone Shopping Centre ! And guess who was lucky enough to be invited to Nuffnang's Food Blogger Meet up & Tasting at Cacao Green?

We all know Cacao Green for their 100% all-natural frozen yogurt. That's no preservatives, no artificial flavours no artificial colours and gluten free. Though experts in froyo, Cacao Green also offers waffles, parfaits, smoothies and coffees. With so many offerings, I didn't even know where to begin !

Ham & Cheese Waffle

Smoked Salmon Waffle

Banana Hazulnut Waffle

Strawberry Hazulnut Waffle

Sweet and pillowy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Try a simple ham, tomato and melty cheese waffle. For the sweet tooths, opt for waffle chambers filled with pools of nutella, caramel, frozen yogurt, bananas, and walknuts finished cing sugar.

Original and Green Tea Frozen Yogurt with Homemade Berry Compote and Fresh Mango

Mango and Coconut Frozen Yogurt with Mango Popping Pearls and Mini Strawberry Pops

Ginger Lemon Frozen Yogurt with Lychee Popping Pearls and Brownie Bits

Creamy creamy froyo, reminiscent of ice cream inevitably made my tastebuds sing happy days. Minus the crazy calories, there was no reason to love. Flavours ranged from luscious mango, smooth green tea, tropical coconut to quirky ginger lemon. Even better, crown these swirly creations with homemade compote, seasonal fresh fruits, cheesecake bites or mochi - anything your heart desires.

Mixed Berries Parfait & Berry Mango Parfait

Your choice of freshly chopped seasonal fruits layered in Orginal Cacao Green Frozen Yogurt twirled among crunchy granola clusters and protein packed nuts. Treat yourself well !

Mixed Berry Smoothie & Spinach Smoothie

Skinny Flat White

Cacao Green also serves up St Ali coffee and what a pleasant surprise that was. Of course, I ordered myself a nice hot Skinny Flat White which went down a treat. The only gripe I had was that no effort at all was put into the coffee art. I like coffee art.

Overall, you can never go wrong with a chilli treat of froyo, be it for an emergency pick-me-ups or a healthy snack. Delicious on the lips and easy on the hips !

A big thank you to Cacao Green, Valissa and the Nufnang gang for making this all happen.

PappaRich

"Comeeeeee to PappaRich" - so does anyone else have the PappaRich radio jingle stuck in their head ?  Now, I'm not too sure if the aim was to use this 'annoying' jingle as a marketing technique, but that's exactly the effect it had on me. This catchy, annoying jingle was all I could think about on my way there, as I ate, when I left, and now as I write this blogpost. Kudos to you PappaRich.

Dry Curry Egg Noodle with Steamed Chicken

I always order the same thing from PappaRich. There is just something that always pulls me in to their simply fresh springy egg noodles tossed in a mixed dark soy sauce, garnished with spring onions, fried shallots and fresh chillies. I thought the steamed Hainan chicken was satisfactory, but would have loved it was a bit more juicy and smooth.

Iced Teh & Jelly

You know what's fun to drink ? Slurping up icy cool Teh Tahrik with grass jelly. With a layer of pulled froth sitting on top, the strength and sweetness of the Teh was just about right.

For me, PappaRich is somewhere I would go only to when I'm looking for a quick meal at Chadstone Shopping Centre. PappaRich is nothing special - it's simple, no fuss kind and you get what you order.

Capital Kitchen

I don't like eating at shopping centres. The food courts give me a headache, and inevitably, I end up going round and round in circles. Luckily, we had Capital Kitchen to brunch at. Situated around the corner from Tiffany&Co, Capital Kitchen sits with the big kids at Chadstone, the Fashion Capital.

Chicken Baguette & French Fries

My toasted Chicken Baguette was Scrumptious. Scrumptious with a capital S ! The heavenly aromas alone had me salivating like Pavlov's dogs. The buttery baguette was generously sized and filled to the brim with creamy chicken, smooth avocado, crunchy celery and fresh salad.

To satisfy our fried food cravings, we could not look past the French Fries. Paired with a side of herb mayo, our golden shoestring fries dusted with herb salt were seriously addictingSated, we sat back and licked our fingers clean.

Capital Kitchen made a delightful stop off point for a light tasty lunch and a place to rest our feet from a long day of shopping. All in all, Capital Kitchen scored well in my books and I will definitely be returning.

Let's Bab

Let's Bab !
Translated directly, meaning 'Let's Rice' ! Cute.

In need of a quick & hot lunch, my brothers and I popped into Let's Bab.
Fast, delicious, generously sized meals at very affordable prices ! This is what I call value for money.

Soon doo boo jjigae

Hot boiling soon doo boo jiggae ! Was still boiling away as it arrived to our table, and I actually had to wait a few seconds so I could snap a photo. You can see here that in that time, my brother attacked the fried tofu. I do have to say, that tofu was hella delicious. Golden cubes of deep-fried tofu drizzled with BBQ sauce and kewpie mayo.

Seafood Ramen

Instant ramen in a spicy seafood broth. Seafood included shrimps, baby mussels and pipis. Was pretty much a standard korean ramen dish.

Spicy pork BBQ

A very generous serving indeed- all for $10 ! Loved that the pork was on the leaner side. Was very flavoursome, and luckily for my brother, was not too spicy.

Takoyaki
Octopus and cabbage balls

Takoyaki being my litlle brother's most favourite dish ever, we had to order these. Despite having so much food, was very tempted to order another serving. Aside from these amazeballs being a little on the smaller side, they were everything we could have asked for. A smooth and creamy takoyaki encasing a juicy piece of octopus.

 Korokke

Croquettes. I have the worse tendency to pronounce this as 'croquet', like the wooden ball and mallet game in Alice in Wonderland. I mean I know the difference and I know its pronounced croquette, but it gets me every tume. Super embarrassing. These beautifully breadcrumbed babies held the creamiest potato mash inside and were complimented with two sauces.

Out of all the Korean cafes along Warrigul Road, Let's Bab has always been and will always remain a favourite whenever I just want an easy meal.
